Public BBQ

A peaceful, flat, well-spread campground right on the lake in Myall Lakes, with the beach a short walk away and a great lawn for games. Swimming and boating are safe and the watersports are the main draw, along with sunsets that make the location. Wildlife is abundant - dingoes, birds, snakes and lizards of every size. The pit toilets are clean and the facilities do the rangers credit. A lovely 1.5-kilometre loop walk starts here; the rainforest walk has real potential but is badly overgrown, with fallen cabbage palm leaves making the path hard to follow. The north end has the view, and only from the front sites; the south end is overgrown with no outlook at all. Two things to know: no fires are permitted, not even in a contained burner, and there is no drinking or cooking water. Take repellent in summer.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Mid-Coast council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

We do also list wood fired BBQs on this site, so check the above descriptions and photos to be prepared.

If you are convinced that the BBQ has issues, then contact Mid-Coast council and let them know it's faulty.

You should first check with Mid-Coast council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
